Hello, I’m Alicia, a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. I take a humanistic approach, using a range of techniques to suit your hopes and needs, including the Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Solution-Focused methods. My style is calm and warm and you will feel supported and at ease. My main aims are to ensure you feel listened to, work towards a more accepting and anxiety-free future and build a trustworthy therapeutic relationship.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP), have worked in the NHS and have experience working in short-term and long-term therapeutic relationships.
I have extensive experience working with individuals struggling with a wide range of difficulties including low self-esteem, low mood, anxiety and trauma. I regularly work with clients presenting pregnancy and motherhood issues, and my practice includes supporting new parents adjusting to these new chapters in their lives.
I trained integratively, where I have experience working with different theories and types of therapy.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in the events industry for over nine years. During this time, I developed a clear understanding of the impact stress and anxiety can have on the body and mind and an awareness of the life-changing benefits of therapy.
Through my counselling practice I have become passionate about life as a new parent and developed a deep understanding of the unique emotional changes it brings.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through therapy:
Low self-worth and low self-esteem
Anxiety
Low mood and depression
Childhood trauma
Family trauma
Anger issues
Relationship issues
Trust issues
Co-dependency and boundary issues
Adapting to motherhood and parenthood
Shame and guilt
Postnatal depression
Sometimes people come to therapy with a clear goal in mind and others are unsure where to start. I offer a free 20 minute introductory phone call during which you can ask any questions you may have.
In person sessions are available from my practice in Chiswick and Kensington. I also offer online sessions via Zoom if you prefer the comfort of your own home.
Sessions last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis. I also provide a limited number of spaces for students for whom sessions are charged at a discounted rate.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07725127581 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
