Hello, I’m Alicia, a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. I take a humanistic approach, which means I see each client as a whole, capable and unique person rather than a set of symptoms. I believe that every individual has an innate capacity for growth, self-understanding and positive change when supported in the right environment. My style is calm and warm and you will feel supported and at ease. I aim to provide a space where your experiences are fully acknowledged, while working collaboratively towards self-acceptance and reduced anxiety.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and have worked in the NHS with a broad range of people, personalities, backgrounds and diagnoses.
I work with individuals struggling with a wide range of difficulties including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Whether you're navigating a specific difficulty or just feeling overwhelmed, I provide a safe and non-judgemental space where we can explore what's going on together. Each individual is unique and I work in an authentic way to allow your true nature to come through. You will be listened to and supported in a process to enable you to start living life in a way that has meaning to you. Central to our work is the rapport we build, creating a supportive setting where you can feel seen, heard and understood.
Are you pregnant or a new parent and worried about parenthood issues? My practice includes supporting expectant and new parents adjusting to a new chapter in their lives. Personal and professional experiences have developed a deep understanding of the unique emotional changes it brings.
I also regularly work with clients in corporate industries, experiencing workplace burnout, anxieties and bullying. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in a corporate role for over nine years. During this time, I developed a clear understanding of the impact stress and anxiety can have on the body and mind and an awareness of the life-changing benefits of therapy.
I trained integratively and so have experience working with different theories and types of therapy. These include the Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Solution-Focused methods.
Everyone has their own story, which is why it is important to use the right therapy for you.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through therapy:
Low self-worth and low self-esteem
Anxiety
Low mood and depression
Childhood trauma
Family trauma
Anger issues
Relationship issues
Trust issues
Co-dependency and boundary issues
Adapting to parenthood
Shame and guilt
Workplace burnout
Bullying
Sometimes people come to therapy with a clear goal in mind and others are unsure where to start. I offer a free 20 minute introductory phone call during which you can ask any questions you may have.
In person sessions are available from my practice in Chiswick (West London) or Earls Court (South West London).
I offer online sessions via Zoom if you prefer the comfort of your own home.
As someone who loves nature, I also offer walking therapy in the West London area.
Sessions are £70.00 and last 50 minutes. These usually take place on a weekly basis, and I have some availability for fortnightly sessions. I also provide a limited number of spaces for students for whom sessions are charged at a discounted rate.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it might be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
